About Sarah Heaton Veterinary Physiotherapy
Prioritising the health, recovery, and performance of horses.

Sarahs lifelong passion for horses has shaped her career into what it is today
— a highly skilled and dedicated veterinary physiotherapist. After completing her studies in equine care at college, Sarah gained extensive hands-on experience working with hunters, eventers, and point-to-pointers, eventually advancing to the roles of assistant trainer and head groom.
In 2005, Sarah transitioned to the veterinary field, starting as a groom at a veterinary practice. Within just three weeks, her skills were recognized, and she was promoted to veterinary technician. Soon after, she began her veterinary nurse training and, by 2009, became a Registered Equine Veterinary Nurse (REVN). Throughout her veterinary career, Sarah developed a particular interest in poor performance, internal medicine, and wound management.
Eager to further expand her expertise, Sarah seized an opportunity to become a lecturer in equine veterinary nursing at the prestigious Myerscough School of Veterinary Nursing. However, after a personal experience with physiotherapy following a car accident, Sarah discovered a new passion. In 2014, she qualified as a veterinary physiotherapist and returned to veterinary practice as head nurse in an equine orthopaedic practice, furthering her knowledge of musculoskeletal disorders while building a strong client base.

Since 2014, Sarah has continued to pursue advanced qualifications, including certifications in kinesiology taping and laser therapy. She is committed to delivering the highest standard of care through tailored treatment plans, working in collaboration with veterinarians and other paraprofessionals. Sarah is accredited by the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP) and the International Association of Animal Therapists, ensuring that her practice meets the highest industry standards.
